Your Guide to BC Music Festivals in 2025

Music festival season is fast approaching here in BC as the weather is finally taking a turn for the better. There’s nothing quite like listening to your favourite artists outdoors under the sun and dancing long into the summer night. Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival

Ska & Reggae Fest

This beloved festival in Victoria is known as “Ska Fest”, which will be hosting its 25th year in the scenic Inner Harbour. Organized by the non-profit Victoria BC Ska Society, Ska Fest features a broad range of genres besides ska and reggae, including punk rock, hip hop, soul, and jazz.

Full festival passes are on sale for $182, and can be purchased online and at the Tourism Info Centre in Victoria. You can also purchase individual tickets for specific bands, subject to availability.

Vancouver International Jazz Festival

Vancouver’s Jazz Fest popped off from a thriving local jazz scene in the 80’s, which was when the Pacific Jazz and Blues Association was formed and the inaugural festival was held with performances by Miles Davis, Wynton Marsalis and more.

For their 40th anniversary, the Vancouver International Jazz Fest will be held across 11 days and multiple locations for 2025. With the mountains in the background and the ocean nearby, Jazz Fest is an iconic Vancouver experience. Tickets are available per show.

ValhallaFest

Valhalla Fest

ValhallaFest is an intimate electronic and dance music festival of just 1,000 people under the shaded mossy canopies in Terrace. Out in the middle of the forest, the vibes are serene and magical.

Last call tickets are available for $195, which includes 3 days and nights of music plus festival camping.

Dates: June 20-22

Location: 10 km West of Terrace, BC

 

FVDED in the Park

FVDED in the Park is an outdoor electronic and dance music festival that takes place at Holland Park in the urban area of Surrey. The 2025 headliners are Zedd and Tiesto, plus there will be dozens of other big EDM names taking numerous stages throughout the park.

2-day general admission tickets are currently on sale for $302 (fees included). There is no camping available for this festival, so make sure to secure a hotel or Airbnb nearby to avoid pricey cabs.

Bass Coast

Bass Coast festival

Bass Coast is an Electronic Music and Arts Festival that will be celebrating its 17th year in operation. As an award-winning independent and artist owned festival, Bass Coast is more of a boutique experience that’s free of corporate sponsorship.

‘Wild Things’ is the festival theme for 2025, which will feature not only musical acts but art installations, performers, workshops, and yoga. General admission tickets are currently on sale for $449, which includes camping, with early entry available for purchase.

Location: Merritt, BC

 

Vancouver Folk Festival

Founded back in 1978, the Vancouver Folk Festival is held outdoors at Jericho Beach Park on the west side of the city and attracts roughly 30,000 people annually. VFMF is a Canadian cultural institution of community-based celebration, featuring contemporary folk and roots music from around the globe.

Early bird weekend passes are available for $225, with discounts available for seniors, students and youth.

Shambhala Music Festival

Shambhala festival

Shambhala is a beloved electronic music festival celebrating its 26th year in the West Kootenay region of BC. It’s held at Salmo River Ranch, a 500-acre farm owned privately by the founder and his family.

Without corporate sponsorship, Shambhala has grown to become one of the largest and longest running music events in the country with 200+ artists and 6 stages – and it’s still family-run. Pre-party tickets are available for sale, but names are being taken for the 2025 festival waitlist.

Sunfest Country Festival

Sunfest is a beloved country music festival on Vancouver Island that attracts some of the world’s biggest country stars each year. 2025 is no exception, which features, Brothers Osborne, Bailey Zimmerman, Tim Hicks, Chase Rice, Ashley Cooke and more.

Weekend passes are available as well as single day tickets, which can be purchased along with several options for camping.

Electric Love Music Festival

Electric Love festival

Electric Love is an electronic music festival celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with local artists, educational workshops, facilitated meditations, and world-renowned DJs. As a drug and alcohol-free event, Electric Love values music, dance, community, creativity and environmental sustainability. Plus, you can camp under the stars!

The 2025 lineup is not released yet, but you’ll be able to purchase tickets online or at their ticket office on Homer Street in Vancouver.

Dates: August 7-10

Location: Pritchard, BC

 

Laketown Shakedown

Laketown Nickelback festival

Laketown Shakedown is the largest ticketed live music event on Vancouver Island. For 2025, the festival will be headlined by Nickelback, The Glorious Sons, and Sam Roberts Band, which has spurred record ticket sales.

The Laketown Ranch Music & Recreation Park is located near Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island, past Cowichan Lake on Youbou Road. Some tickets are still available, but you better hurry!
