Pecan Brownies

Let’s start off with the quintessential edible – the pot brownie. Brownies are a great option for infusing cannabis because the intense, rich flavour of the chocolate overpowers the not-so-pleasant taste of the cannabis. Plus, we’ll also throw in some toasted nuts and salt to bring the flavour to the next level while providing some texture. Brownies are also pretty straightforward to make, without the need for rolling, shaping or building – instead, everything comes together in the baking pan.

Yield: 12 brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cannabutter

  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tsp. chopped pecans

  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. The first step is to get your nuts toasted. Pecans are indicated in this recipe, but you could sub out for your fav. Just chop them up into pieces, lay them flat on a baking sheet, and toast them until they become a bit darkened.

  2. Next, find and grease a baking sheet that is preferably an 8-inch by 8-inch square. Line it with parchment paper to ensure nothing sticks.

  3. Now we start throwing things together. Into a large bowl, add all of your strained cannabutter, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and salt. Combine everything well, then slowly add in your eggs one at a time. Once everything is looking well combined and uniform, your flour and toasted nuts go in.

  4. Once all your ingredients are fully combined, it’s time to pour the mixture into your baking pan. Bake for 25-28 minutes at 350 degrees, and make sure to let it cool for at least 15 minutes before eating.
